Colbert Nation Sponsors US Speedskating Team
"The Colbert Report" has become the primary sponsor of the U.S. Speedskating team after its former sponsor, DSB Bank, went bankrupt, according to ESPN. The name "Colbert Nation"-- referring to the legions of fans that regularly enjoy the satirical Comedy Central show "The Colbert Report"-- will now be printed on the team's uniforms.
The show's host, Stephen Colbert, is calling on his fans to donate to the team via www.colbertnation.com and www.usspeedskating.org. In the past, Colbert has had huge success raising money this way, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Yellow Ribbon Fund, a charity that assists injured service members and their families.
