The Spoke Word: Day 1 Interbike Eye Candy
Some goodies from the show floor at Interbike:
Here's the Scott Addict that Mark Cavendish rode to six stage wins at the 2009 Tour de France. Check the gigantic stem he uses to withstand the torque he applies to the handlebars while sprinting.
Scott's Plasma 3 TT/triathlon bike isn't available to the public yet. And it probably won't be next year, either. But the company promises the public will be able to buy it eventually. In the meantime, photos will have to do.
Scott also debuted a new triathlon shoe that features a simple rear-entry solution for quick transitions. Adjust the laces ahead of time for the proper forefoot fit, then simply fold the heel cup up and tug the strap to secure the shoe in T2.
German builder Markus Storck and his much-talked-about Aero 2 bike. The entire bike—including proprietary carbon brake calipers, fork, bars, and stem—went from initial sketches to this show display in five months. Watch for it under 2005 Ironman World Champion Faris Al Sultan (read our profile here).
CamelBak's VeloBak integrates a 72-ounce hydration reservoir into a traditional-looking three-pocket cycling jersey.
CamelBak also debuted the Flow Meter, a $30 digital meter that monitors your hydration rate and how much fluid you have left. It can be retrofit into any existing CamelBak hydration hose.
Schwinn's Hornet cruiser has a cup holder built into the top tube. Fully awesome.
The SRAM XX-equipped Trek Top Fuel that Lance Armstrong rode to a record time at Leadville this year. Look for a full review of the XX group here later this fall.

Great pics John. Regarding the Litespeed, this is not their first foray into Carbon Fiber bikes. They manufactured a carbon bike in I believe 2005 called the Pavia. Here's some info on it: http://www.flammerouge.je/content/3_factsheets/biketest/pavia.htm
Unfortunately they discontinued it after one year, I hope this one has a longer lifespan.

Hello,
I came across your site while searching the topic "cup holder". As I have content on my blog related to this search, I was curious if you'd be interested in a blogroll link exchange (i.e. I link to your site, and you link to mine). For examples of my link exchanges, or to see my blog for yourself, please visit http://oh-4.com/blog . Feel free to contact me there if you're interested.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Thanks for the info, Quinn. Have to admit I was unaware of that frame. Given Litespeed's display here at Interbike, though, it seems they're really getting behind these new carbon offerings.
