Because It Rocks up There
Just when you thought Everest couldn't become more of a spectacle, they went and decided to throw a rock concert up there. Don't worry, it's for a good cause. On October 13, musicians and mountaineers alike will gather together for "Everest Rocks", a 14-day trek that culminates with an acoustic set at base camp and a full-on rock concert later in Kathmandu. The events will benefit The Nepal Cancer Relief Society and performers include Mike Peters from The Alarm, Slim Jim Phantom of the Stray Cats, Nick Harper and a couple odd members of 80's band The Fixx (little known fact: Sherpas love British New Wave the way Germans love Hasselhoff).
